Result from Game Day 4

TubbyFC 3 – Carlisle City Deaf 0

TubbyFc welcome Carlisle City Deaf DC to St Benedicts for the return fixture in the Cumberland FA Social Inclusion & well being league. The previous meeting ended in a 2-1 defeat for TubbyFC. The 1st half of the game was looking like it was going to be a 0-0 scoreline. Until the 40th Min when, Dave Pennington put in a lovely cross which met the head of Kieran Moynes to put into the goal coming off a CCDFC player. Some would say before the goal but Moynes’y was certain the ball was over the line before hitting the opposition player.

Onto the second half and TubbyFC grabbed their second early on when Niah Vaughan found Cobie Mellon to fire the ball past the opposition keeper. Cobie again found the net in similar fashion this time Wayne Jackson providing the assist for Cobie to put past the keeper. Jordan McCabe was denied the 4th goal for TubbyFC which was ruled off Side by the Referee.

Fundraising News

The Coach and some of the players along with one of the players from NHS International FC. Made the visit to the West Cumberland Hospital Breast Screening Unit to hand-over a cheque for £450 from the fundraising effort from the last time the 2 teams played.

2nd Away Game On Sunday

TubbyFC are back in action again this weekend hoping to get their first win in the new Social inclusion wellbeing league. last weekend ended in a 2-1 deafeat. This weekend see’s us take on Hilltop United FC at Carlisle’s Melbourne park. Hopefully the fixture will survive the weather

TubbyFC Back In Action

After a break TubbyFc are back in action on Dec 1st when we visit Carlisle to take on Carlisle City Deaf FC. The game marks the start of the Cumberland FA’s Inclusion and well-being league. Which TubbyFC are proud to be a apart of. The game kicks off at 14:00 at Caldew School Dalston.

TubbyFC Bring The Win Home

TubbyFc made the trip across the A66 to Durham to take on Durham MvF at the New Ferens Park

TubbyFc opened the scoring after 10 mins with a cross from Grayson found luke Bullock to tap in past the keeper. Graysons afternoon was cut short however after injuring himself when he crossed the ball. TubbyFc second goal come from a cross from Luke Bullock which come off  the Durham defender to the feet of Moynes who managed to sort his feet out to put into the goal. Shortly after the 20 min drinks break some Moynes passed onto O’connor who was breaking into the Box his riffled shot come off the keeper into the path of the on coming moynes to grab his second goal.

onto the second half and Durham MvF started to come back into the game after the half time team talk. 15 mins in TubbyFC were caught napping and the Durham striker put the ball beyond Bullock in the TubbyFC Goal. Tubby Fc grabbed another goal when Luke Bullock was brought down in the box . The Referee pointed to the spot. It was then Luke who was told to take the Pen from the Bench in the absense of Dave Mellon the usuall TubbyFc Pen Taker. Luke slotted past the keeper to make it 4 goals to TubbyFc. Moynes added a further goal to make it a hatrick for the afternoon after he half volleyed the ball from Luke Bullocks cross which wasnt dealt with by the Durham defence.

Durham grabbed a 2nd late on in the game with a spectacular effort from outside the box

A fantastic game all round with the return leg planned for 14th Sept @ St Benedicts RUFC

Scrappy Game See’s TubbyFC Get The Win

Full time result from earlier this afternoon up at st Benedict’s Astro 

A very scrappy game over the 90 mins one own goal from Zack Henry separated the 2 sides at half time. 

Dave Mellon pulled it to all square from the pen spot before Cobie Mellon grab the winner in scrappy fashion but a wins a win so they say

The game is raising money for the breast screening unit at the West Cumberland Hospital an announcement of funds raised will be made in due course.

Goal Fest Saturday

TubbyFC hosted a  strong Borough Miners FC squad who made the visit to Newlands Ave on Sat 10th Aug. A good turnout on Tubby hill down at Bennies in the excellent weather made way for a excellent 90mins of football. Both teams put on a excellent showing with plenty of goals between kick off and full time. TubbyFc started brightly with some early chances but on 13 mins Dryden found the head of Cobie Mellon from a cross to head past the keeper. Then on 29 mins it was Cobie Mellon who returned the favour to Dryden after dispossessing the ball from a miners defender. Crossed over to Dryden who looked like he had scuffed his chance but managed to take control again of the ball to put it in the back of the net.

Borough Miners then hit back with 2 goals within 4 mins to make it all square. 2 mins later TubbyFc struck again through Ryan Smith heading past the keeper from a Kieran Moynes cross.

Miners were not done thou scoring 2 further goals to make it TubbyFC 3-4 Borough Miners Fc

Onto the second half and 5 mins in Ryan Smith scored from just past the half way line after the keepers kick went straight to smiths feet who seen the keeper way off his line and tried his luck.

Borough struck back again on 62 mins to take the lead again but 2 goals from new signing Gary Doran on 85 min then Cobie Mellon grabbed a second on 87 mins seen TubbyFc over the line
