TubbyFC vs Borough Miners
TubbyFC hosted a strong Borough Miners FC squad who made the visit to Newlands Ave on Sat 10th Aug. A good turnout on Tubby hill down at Bennies in the excellent weather made way for a excellent 90mins of football. Both teams put on a excellent showing with plenty of goals between kick off and full time. TubbyFc started brightly with some early chances but on 13 mins Dryden found the head of Cobie Mellon from a cross to head past the keeper. Then on 29 mins it was Cobie Mellon who returned the favour to Dryden after dispossessing the ball from a miners defender. Crossed over to Dryden who looked like he had scuffed his chance but managed to take control again of the ball to put it in the back of the net.
Borough Miners then hit back with 2 goals within 4 mins to make it all square. 2 mins later TubbyFc struck again through Ryan Smith heading past the keeper from a Kieran Moynes cross.
Miners were not done thou scoring 2 further goals to make it TubbyFC 3-4 Borough Miners Fc
Onto the second half and 5 mins in Ryan Smith scored from just past the half way line after the keepers kick went straight to smiths feet who seen the keeper way off his line and tried his luck.
Borough struck back again on 62 mins to take the lead again but 2 goals from new signing Gary Doran on 85 min then Cobie Mellon grabbed a second on 87 mins seen TubbyFc over the line

TubbyFC vs Brough FC
Today we welcomed Brough FC to St Benedict’s RUFC for our second game of the season. Fantastic bunch of lads who play in the Westmorland leagues so a good test for us. Goals from Luke bullock and Antony burton in the first 15 mins had things looking comfortable but Brough struck back from the penalty spot on 35 mins to get themselves going. They then scored just before half time after a corner wasn’t dealt with by the Tubbyfc defence to slot past the keeper.
Into the second half seen TubbyFC take the lead again with some loverly play found Michael peat to put the ball beyond the keeper. Brough struck back again from a free kick. Game finished 3-3. Up next for us is a tournament over in Newcastle next weekend
Man of match – Luke bullock although Cobie Mellon done his pint off challenge
